Join the Alpha Iota chapter of California’s Alpha Gama Sigma Honors Society as we run through all the Assassin’s Creed games in order! Watch and donate for a good cause, and take joy in watching those dirty Templars get what is coming to them!

The marathon will be live streamed from start to end, so feel free to join us at any time to interact and chat with the players and members of the Honors Society!

The college campus will be closed next Friday in honor of Veteran’s Day. Our club meeting will be held at Karen Lubick’s house. We will also be making blankets for SARS. Please bring food and drinks if you can, it will be greatly appreciated.

Candy Sale

Soon the candy bagging for the candy sale will be underway, but we need more candy. The more candy donations we get, the more money we make. If you have candy to donate, bring it to a club meeting and give it to any officer (you can also have them sign off on your points sheet at this time). Donating candy is a great way to get service points as $5=1 point (max is $25 or 5 points).

Alpha Iota members applying for permanent membership and members of the AVC student body interested in applying for active membership: it is unfortunately too late in the semester for processing procedures. However, don’t give up! If you still want to participate in Alpha Iota there is a new semester on the horizon. It is recommended that anyone wanting to embark on a semester or lifetime journey with Alpha Iota process their application paperwork during the first month of the Fall 2011 semester. Come meet new people and be a part of one of AVC’s biggest and most esteemed clubs.

Service Point Sheets

The semester is nearing its destination call! Last chance to finish up the details we all started. Professor Mary Margaret McGuire will be collecting service point sheets from all members. The deadline to turn them in is May 16^th. You can turn them in to her during one of our Friday meeting @ 12:30 or bring them to her office located in room LS1-119. Don’t be late, as your service points may not be counted if they are turned in late.

Candy Sale

Come raise money for Alpha Iota and show your club support. Alpha Iota is having its annual candy sale located in the main AVC student quad next to the bookstore. Our goal is to raise as much money as we can in order to finance our club endeavors in and throughout the greater antelope valley community. If you have spare time, come to our table and earn an extra service minute or two, for participating with our fund raiser. You will meet lots of new and interesting AVC students as they pass by and inquire about our sale. Don’t miss out on the candy sale fun starting April18-21 from 10:00- 3:00. see you there!

Sewing of the stoles and candy bagging

Alpha Iota is hosting another sewing of the stoles party event at Professor Lubick’s house this Sunday the 17^th of April @ 1 pm. In addition to making the stoles, we will begin bagging candy for our future candy selling fund raiser event to take place later this month. Interested members should bring sewing machines, sharp scissors, iron/ ironing board and or candy. This party/ event is an excellent way to gain service points and show your support for Alpha Iota. In addition, there will be lots of food and refreshments. I hope to see you all there!

Sewing party

Alpha Iota is having its annual sewing of the stoles party. The party will kick off Sunday the 27^th of March at 1:30pm. Each person attending the party is required to bring a pair of sharp scissors. Permanent membership

Alpha Iota’s magnificent advisor Karen Lubick is presently taking applications for Permanent membership in Alpha Iota. Applications can be acquired from Karen Lubick or picked from the paper tray located outside her office door. All potential applicants must submit the application to Karen Lubick before April 20^th 2011! The qualifications and benefits for permanent membership are listed below.

Must complete 60 units of transferable courses.
Must have good standing with Alpha Iota
Must have a 3.5 cumulative GPA with one semester membership in Alpha Iota OR
Must have 3.25 cumulative GPA with two semester’s membership in Alpha Iota.
Complete the application form before graduating. Forms must be turned in before the deadline. (Applications are processed one time per academic year).
Permanent members may receive scholarships (Active Members Only!) and special recognition for academic achievement noted on their transcripts.
They will receive the Alpha Gamma Sigma certificate and badge.
They are eligible to wear the graduation stole.
